For anyone striving to make a positive impact in the world, to make it just a little better, the destination is often clear, but the journey is long and full of challenges.
With the gift of time, we’ve seen that while the sweetness of success is real, it is the sweetness of overcoming the challenges encountered along the way that becomes unforgettable. These are the moments we remember, discuss, ponder, agonize over, and ultimately laugh and cry about… Ones we revisit with deep gratitude as we near each “mountaintop.” Rarely does anyone witness the quiet struggles, the unseen effort, and the steadfast commitment required to turn a dream into reality. Yes, we celebrate the victories- but the real story lives in the climb.
Over the past 18 years it is the generosity and combined support from every single camp partnership; along with advocates including One Compassion, Continuous Blessings, and the North American Camp Trust (NACT), that has sustained the Scott-Free mission. Each allowing us to steadily expand our reach just a little further, just a little wider. And today, with great humility, we welcome and celebrate, a gift of generosity from @TheWhiteWhaleV2. This recently bestowed endowment to Journeys Urging Mammoth Possibilities, doing business as The Scott-Free Scholarship Foundation, will ensure that our organization can continue to build and expand its reach, strengthen its foundation, and carry out its mission in perpetuity.
With the combined support of both veteran and new advocates, Scott-Free will continue to confidently serve every eligible at-risk child who is seeking a friend, an opportunity and a champion to open the doorway into the world of possibilities that a summer camp adventure can create. Since 2008, our organization has been privileged to partner with remarkable summer camp programs across North Carolina and beyond to create hundreds of summer camp opportunities. These relationships have formed the bedrock of our mission: without whom, Scott-Free would not exist.
With much gratitude, we welcome and will strive to be deserving of this most generous endowment, recently gifted from @TheWhiteWhaleV2. To all who support, encourage, believe, and lift us up… you are part of the Scott-Free legacy. Your years of unwavering care and support forms the community that makes our work not only possible but enriches the horizon of what can be possible for every Scott-Free child.
